Membership REJN has three categories of membership. Full membership is open to any community-based organization that is organizing around economic justice issues in the South. Associate membership is open to individuals (who may or may not represent an organization) who bring resources (e.g. skills, expertise, supportive activity, material resources, etc.) to REJN. Both must pay dues and participate in annual gatherings. International/Affiliate membership is open to other networks and organizations based outside the South and US. An organization or individual may apply for membership after participating in an REJN event.
Board of Directors The Board of Directors (Steering Committee) is the elected, legal authority of the organization, serving as the policy making and leadership body. Candidates for the Board of Directors may be proposed by the Board of Directors, working groups, and the membership at the annual meeting and are elected at the annual meeting by the majority of eligible members. The Board of Directors reflects a balance of gender, race/ethnicity, age, physical ability, sexual orientation, constituency, and geographic location. The Board of Directors establishes REJN's workplan, plans and provides leadership/facilitation for the Annual Gatherings, serves as a coordinating body for the working groups, oversees the administration and fiscal accountability, and assists with fundraising. The Board provides the leadership of the Annual Gatherings. It meets twice a year and by conference calls.
