The Southeast Regional Economic Justice Network is:

  • a network of 60 organizations that serve the working poor, mostly women and youth.

  • a space for grassroots groups to build relationships for mutual support, since 1989.

  • committed to supporting local economic justice organizing and the  leadership of workers, women and youth.

  • one of the few places in the South for poor folks to meet and strategize with their counterparts from Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean and South America.

  • based in Durham, North Carolina.

Overcoming fear is one of our biggest organizing challenges in Southern communities.

REJN’s mission is to build an inclusive, intergenerational economic justice movement, grounded in Southern reality, that creates fullness of life for all.  REJN was organized to enable organizations of Southern workers, women, and youth, and the general public better understand and proactively respond to economic restructuring and worsening conditions in our communities.
